About ROBOTJEANS

The internet is the largest collection of unresolved loose ends in human history, and every day more of them disappear before anyone thinks to write them down. ROBOTJEANS exists because somebody has to, and apparently that somebody is me.

What We Cover

Mysteries

Unsolved cases from the digital frontier. Vanished Reddit users, cryptic coded messages, anonymous puzzles that consumed thousands of hours from people who absolutely had other things to do — and the questions that are still sitting there, unanswered, if you know where to look.

Rabbit Holes

Topics that reward obsessive research with discoveries that are somehow always stranger than whatever you went in looking for. Shortwave number stations still broadcasting Cold War codes to nobody in particular. The unhinged manifestos of early web outsiders who were wrong about everything but completely committed to it. These are the threads you pull until you look up and it's 3am and you're not sure how you got here.

Digital Folklore

The internet generates mythology at industrial scale and almost nobody is keeping track of it. A forum post becomes a character becomes a legend becomes something people genuinely believe happened. Stories mutate across platforms until the original version is gone and six contradictory ones have taken its place. We trace how digital myths are born, evolve, and occasionally escape into the real world to cause problems.

Why This Matters

Websites go offline. Forums shut down. Threads get deleted by moderators who did not understand what they were looking at. The stories documented here today may be genuinely inaccessible tomorrow, which means if nobody writes them down now, they're just gone. ROBOTJEANS is a record of the web's strangest moments — preserved and presented for anyone who finds the unknown corners of the internet as impossible to ignore as I do.

The Name

I've been asked. I don't have a satisfying answer. Some things don't need to make sense to feel right and ROBOTJEANS is one of them.
